About Us

Howdy! Welcome to our About Us page. If you don't find the information you're seeking, feel free to send us an email.

We're just like you. We cherish our dogs, and feel compelled to do what it takes to make them happy. We love that beautiful, toothy smile that we see when our pup has gone hard at the dog park (#dogparkwasted). DogTown Parks is our response to the current state of dog parks. Our goal is to develop spaces where it's actually fun to take your dog—a place where you want to go, rather than a place you feel obligated to go. We do this by incorporating changing landscapes, dog-and-human-friendly construction, and natural features.

We dream bigger than the flat dirt patch known as a "dog park".

Raven the Puppy

Meet Raven, the inspiration behind DogTown Parks, and everything good in the world. She's a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. She was born November 28, 2015 on a ranch in Anahuac, TX. As the daughter of working dogs, she was expected to herd livestock and do other chores around the ranch. This was too much work for little Raven. She preferred to spend her time chasing ducks in the pond, and hunting chickens, so at three months it was time for her to leave the ranch. On February 29, 2016, Raven left the ranch to join her new family in Houston.

And so her journey began.

Doug Gallardo Jr

Meet Doug, the executor of DogTown Parks and Raven's dad. He wants Raven and all the other puppies to be happy, and live their "best life". He feels disappointed and frustrated with the half-hearted attempts to make a place for Raven to play. It's time for him to be the change he wants to see in the world. So long as there are dogs to pet, it will be his duty to bring a smile to their faces. He feels that if everyone would take the time to pet more dogs, the world would be a better place—we would all be happier.

"We can learn a lot about being good people from our four-legged friends."
